Journal - What are the pros and cons to photo editing? What are some examples of when photo editing is fun and appropriate? When can photo editing be inappropriate or too much?
Photo editing is always a useful technique. Pros include being able to make a picture more pleasing to the eye, to remove "bad' parts of the picture, and adding extra things and objects to the picture. Usually, it's fun and appropriate that way. But, it can become inappropriate or too much if it is abused. For example, you can see this in many magazines and newspapers with models. Too much airbrush, thinning, and sharpening is used, making other "less than perfect" (but real) people feel bad about themselves. Also, occasionally people mess around with other peoples' pictures without permission, and it may be embarrassing.
